Our aim is to help local causes while having fun. As well as a wide social calendar, we regularly help out at community events wherever there is a need, such as the recent Race of Business in aid of Age UK. We meet on the second Wednesday each month at our hall in Springfield Road and every fourth Wednesday for a social night (see pics on our 'Social Calendar' pages to see just some of what we get up to).
Much of our fundraising activities are based around social activities, such as quiz nights, pub nights, raft races and our annual pig race night, to name but a few!
We are probably best known in Chelmsford for our 'carol sleigh' on which Father Christmas visits the residential areas of Chelmsford and the town centre, spreading festive cheer while collecting for a range of good causes (see Charities).
Always ready to meet new Lions, we went just that bit further this time - all the way to Spain to meet Lion president Paul Butler from La Cala Lions Club. Will this help us to win the travelling lion competition this year?
As a Lions Club Member you’ll join a local group of service-minded men and women who volunteer to support your community every day. You’ll also become a member of Lions Clubs International – a respected international organization, a leader in your local community, and a friend to people in need.

LIONS ARE ORDINARY PEOPLE DOING AMAZING THINGS - NOW FOR 100 YEARS!!!
On the weekend of the 6th & 7th January 2018, a dedicated group of staff and volunteers will be making their rounds through Chelmsford and the surrounding areas, collecting trees in return for a donation to Farleigh Hospice.
Please ensure your tree is outside your home by 9am on Saturday 6th January. Suggested minimum donation is £5, but please feel free to give more!
Last year Farleigh Hospice recycled 1,400 trees, and this meant we raised a fantastic £12,000 for the hospice. PLEASE help us to reach our target of 2,000 trees this year.
To register your tree for collection, please click on the link before 12 noon on Thursday 4th January 2018.
A double celebration, a first for Chelmsford Lions, a joint Lions Charter and Lioness Certification (anniversary) celebration at Chelmsford City FC in November 2017.
