Message in a Bottle

Lions Message in a Bottle is a simple but effective way to keep essential personal and medical details where they can be found in an emergency - in the fridge. Though a simple idea, it has SAVED MANY LIVES. More than 5 million FREE Message in a Bottle kits has been distributed by UK Lions clubs in recent years. The bottles are available on the counter of most Chelmsford doctors surgeries and many chemists. If you are unable to pick one up in either of these locations, please message Chelmsford Lions Club via the 'Contact Us' link above.

Diabetes screening

Diabetes is now a global epidemic and given the importance of diabetes to so many people in our community, Lions clubs across the UK and Ireland are involved in raising awareness, improving education, supporting testing programmes and fund-raising. Mobile diabetes screening centres have been set up in the city centre to provide convenient, on-the-spot diagnosis of this condition. Details of future screening sessions will be announced on this website and via our Facebook page. Spectacles collection

Lions Clubs International Britain & Ireland Spectacle Recycling Initative has been running since 1967, since when nearly a third of a million pairs of glasses have been collected, sorted and distributed to clinics and eye camps across Africa, India and eastern Europe in partnership wit Medico France.
